Disabling WiFi and Bluetooth on your iPhone from the Control Center will not completely disable these services. Follow the steps below to completely disable WiFi and Bluetooth on iPhone or iPad.

In case were not aware, toggling OFF WiFi or Bluetooth buttons in the re-designed iOS 11 Control Center does not really disconnect your device from these services, it only disconnects your device from WiFi and Bluetooth accessories.

Even after they have been turned OFF in the Control Center, both WiFi and Bluetooth services will continue to run in the background on your device, in order to support the following services.

  • Apple Watch
  • AirDrop
  • AirPlay
  • Handoff
  • Apple Pencil
  • Instant Hotspot
  • Location Services

Hence, we are providing below the steps to completely disable WiFi and Bluetooth on iPhone or iPad, in case you want to disable Bluetooth to save battery life or Disable WiFi on iPhone or iPad for any other reason.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

2. On the Settings screen, tap on the WiFi option.

3. On the WiFi Screen, toggle OFF the option for WiFi.

This will completely disable WiFi on your iPhone and this means that you will no longer be able to connect to any WiFi networks unless you toggle ON the option for WiFi using Settings or in the Control Center.

Completely Disable Bluetooth On iPhone and iPad

Follow the steps below to completely disable Bluetooth on iPhone or iPad

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

2. On the Settings screen, tap on the Bluetooth option.

3. On the Bluetooth Screen, toggle OFF the option for Bluetooth.

Disable Bluetooth on iPhone

This will completely disable Bluetooth on your device and this means that you will no longer be able to connect to Bluetooth devices like Apple Watch, AirPods and other Bluetooth accessories.

Whenever you want to connect to a Bluetooth device, you will have to toggle ON Bluetooth using Settings or in the Control Center.
