Google Keyboard (Gboard) for iPhone and iPad
Google’s Keyboard App for iOS has everything that you would want or expect from an advanced keyboard, befitting an iconic device like iPhone – GIFs, Emojis, Glide Typing, Innovative design and outstanding user interface.
Glide Typing – Allows you to type faster and easier by sliding your finger from key to key, instead of regular tap here and there mode of typing.
Emoji Search – You can safely get rid of your dedicated GIF and Emoji apps. Gboard allows you to search for GIF’s and Emojis naturally by typing search terms, just like searching for anything else on Google. For example, typing the word ‘Laughing’ or ‘Happy’ brings up Emojis related to these terms.
GIF Search – Tap on ‘G‘ > type in the search term > and tap on GIF from the bottom menu to see GIF’s related to your search term (See image below).
What really separates Gboard from other Keyboards and places it miles ahead in the game is its innovative concept of making web searches an integrated and natural part of the Keyboard.
To explain this better, let us say that you are Chatting on WhatsApp and you want to share an article about ‘Google Car’ with your WhatsApp contact.
On a regular keyboard, you will be opening the Safari browser to look for the article, copy the link from Safari and come back to WhatsApp to paste the link. All this action can take away the spontaneity and the fun out of your WhatsApp Chat.
With a Gboard powered iPhone, there is no need to open Safari, Chrome or any other web browser. Just tap on ‘G’ to open Gboard’s integrated search interface and type the search term “Google Car” right from within your WhatsApp chat.
Search results for Google Car will appear in the form of Google cards right on the same WhatsApp screen and you will be able to tap on any Search Card and share it with your contact (see image below).
Gboard is surprisingly good, you will certainly notice the seamless & responsive typing that Gboard imparts to your iPhone and chances are that you will be blown away by the features and functionality of Gboard.
