As you must have noticed, your iPhone does not display the Timestamp for every message sent or received on your iPhone. This keeps you wondering as to when a particular message was received on your iPhone and whether you are late in responding to a message.
View Timestamp For All Messages On iPhone
iPhone displays the Date and Time information only for the first message of a Contact on a given day. The time stamp for other messages on your iPhone will not be visible.
Luckily, the ability to see Timestamps for every outgoing and incoming iMessage was added by Apple in iOS 7, and it is really easy to reveal the hidden Time Stamp for all messages received on your iPhone by following the steps below.
1. Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
2. Next, tap on the Contact that you are interested in.
3. On the next screen, drag your finger from right to left from anywhere in the message area on the screen and hold your finger on the screen.
You will be able to see the Timestamp for all individual text messages while your finger is still pressing the screen. Lifting the finger from the screen will cause the Timestamp for individual iMessages to become hidden again.
Note: The ability to view timestamps for individual messages only works for iMessages and not for regular text messages sent from your cellular plan.
