If the Tap-to-click feature is enabled on your Mac, you may notice a slight delay while using Tap-to-click, compared to pressing the Trackpad to register a click on Mac.
The reason for Tap-to-click delay on Mac is due to the way the Trackpad on a MacBook has been designed to wait for the next gesture, in order to accommodate multiple gestures.
For example, when you tap on the trackpad, the system waits to see if you are going to follow up with a second tap to activate double-click or a two-finger tap to Zoom or you are going to drag the finger on the Trackpad.
Tap to Click Delay on MacBook
Since, Tap-to-click delay on Mac is being caused due to its tendency to wait for the next action, you can fix Tap-to-click delay on your MacBook by disabling one or both of the following Trackpad gestures.
1. Disable Smart Zoom – When “Smart Zoom” is turned on, Mac waits to see if a two-finger tap is going to be followed by a two-finger double tap. If you do not use Smart Zoom quite often, you can disable this feature on your Mac.
