It can be annoying and even worrying to see “Your SIM sent a text message” Notification popping up on iPhone. Luckily, in this case your SIM hasn’t really sent a text Message to any of your Contacts, it is just trying to get in touch with your Service Provider or your Carriers Network.

In most cases, your SIM Sent a Text Message Notification starts appearing on iPhone due to the SIM on your iPhone trying to contact the Wireless Carriers Network, in order to get an update or whenever there is a technical issue between your iPhone and the Carriers Network.

In general, Sim Sent a text Message Notification on iPhone can be fixed by any of the following methods.

Check For Updates From Service Provider

It is possible that your Wireless Carrier has just released an Update to improve its services or to fix a bug in the network and this is making your SIM card send a text message to the Carriers network in order to get itself Updated.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.

2. On the Settings screen, tap on General.

3. On the next screen, tap on About.

4. On the About screen, wait for about 30 seconds.

In case there is an update available from your carrier, you will see a Carrier Settings Update pop-up. Tap on the Update option to update carrier settings on your iPhone.

Turn iPhone OFF/ON

Sometimes the SIM card on your iPhone can get stuck in a loop, trying to text your wireless carrier and this can happen even after you have Updated the Carrier Settings on your iPhone.

This issue can often be fixed by simply Turning OFF your iPhone and turning it back ON again.

1. Press and hold the Power Button, until you see Slide to power off button appearing on the screen of your iPhone.

2. Power OFF your iPhone using the Slide to Power Off button (See image above).

3. Wait for about 60 seconds and then restart your iPhone by pressing and Holding the Power button.

Remove SIM Card and Put it Back Again

1. Eject the SIM card tray on your iPhone using a SIM Card ejector tool or a paper clip.

2. Pull the Sim Tray out, wait for 30 seconds and put it back again.

Ejecting and then reinserting the SIM card tray on your iPhone will give it a fresh start, allowing it to reconnect to the network of your wireless service provider.

Reset Network Settings

In case none of the above solutions are helping, you can try to Reset Network Settings on your iPhone to factory default values.

Reset Network Settings will reset Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth and VPN settings on your iPhone to factory default settings. Hence, make sure that you note down your WiFi Network name, password and VPN login information.

1. From the Home screen of your iPhone, tap on Settings.

2. On the Settings screen, tap on General.

3. On the next screen, scroll down and tap on the Reset option (See image below)

4. On the Reset screen, tap on Reset Network Settings.

5. Enter password in case you are prompted.

6. On the next popup, tap on Reset Network Settings to confirm that you do want to Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.

This will Erase all the Network settings on your iPhone and set them back to Factory Default Settings. Hopefully, this should help you fix “Your SIM Sent A Text Message” pop-up on your iPhone.

Contact Wireless Service Provider

In case you are still receiving “Your SIM sent a text Message” pop-ups on your iPhone, it is time to contact your Service Provider and see if the technical support of your service provider is aware of this error.
