iPhone now provides the option to add a second face ID, which can be used to add your another look or another person to your Apple device.
Add Another Face ID to iPhone
The face ID feature on iPhone is designed to automatically adapt to normal changes in appearance like wearing a hat, wearing glasses or contact lenses and growth of hair.
While the chances of iPhone failing to recognize you, when you grow a beard, grow a mustache or go bald are very rare, they cannot still be totally ruled out.
However, the practical use of second face ID feature on iPhone is to add your face ID to a child’s device or to allow another person to access and manage your device during an emergency.
This feature can also be useful for managing the devices of your aged parents or grandparents who may not be technically savvy and capable of managing their devices.
Steps to Add Another Face ID to iPhone
If you have already setup the first face ID, you can follow the steps below to add another face ID to your device.
Open Settings app and tap on Face ID and Passcode.
When prompted, enter your Passcode and select Set UP an Alternate Appearance option.
On the next screen, tap on Get Started button and follow the instructions to setup the second face ID.
Once the second face ID is setup, you should see a message confirming that it has been setup.
How to Remove Face ID from iPhone
At any time, you can remove Face ID from your device by following the steps below.
Go to Settings > Face ID & Password > Enter Passcode > scroll down and tap on Reset Face ID.
After this, you can select Set Up Face ID option and follow the on-screen instructions to register your face again.
