How to Clear Keyboard History on iPhone & iPad

By: Sam Patwegar | March 7, 2025

The default Setting on iPhone is to allow the keyboard to learn from your typing style, so that it can automatically come up with words and phrases that you are likely to use in your conversation.

While this feature should help in typing faster, it often goes wrong and hinders typing by suggesting incorrect or misspelled words and unnecessarily replacing typed words with incorrect or unwanted words.

The solution for this problem is to Clear Keyboard History on iPhone and the permanent solution is to disable the Predictive Text feature on your iPhone.

Another reason for clearing Keyboard History or Disabling Predictive Text on iPhone or iPad is to prevent your device from showing pet names or code words as you are typing, especially when you are with people.
