It can be a problem if your child or anyone else that gains access to your device is able to change the login password on your iPhone. You can find below the steps to prevent others from changing iPhone Passcode.
Stop Child from Changing iPhone Password
iPhone provides the option to setup Lock Screen Password, which prevents unauthorized access to your device and prevents others from taking a look at your Photos, Messages and Personal information.
However, if the Lock Screen Passcode is compromised, anyone else that has the access to your device will be able to Lock you out of your own device by changing its Lock Screen Passcode.
If you are concerned about this possibility, you can add another layer of security to your device by preventing others from changing the Password on your iPhone.
As mentioned above, this can be done by using Content & Privacy Restrictions option as available under Screen Time Settings on iPhone.
Step #1. Set Screen Time Passcode
The first step is the set up Screen Time Passcode on your iPhone. If Screen Time is already enabled on your device, you can move to the next step.
1. Open Settings on your iPhone, scroll down and tap on Screen Time. On the next screen, tap on Turn On Screen Time.
2. If this is the first time you are setting up screen time, tap on Continue > On the next screen, tap This is My iPhone.
3. On the next screen, tap on Use Screen Time Passcode.
Note: You can also skip this step and use Screen Time without setting up Screen Time Passcode
4. On the next screen, enter a 4-digit Screen Time Passcode > enter the password again to confirm.
Important: Make sure that you write down your Screen Time Passcode. You won’t be to make changes to Screen Time settings, without entering this Passcode.
Step #2. Prevent Others from Changing iPhone Passcode
Once the Screen Time Passcode is setup, you can prevent anyone else from changing the Passcode on your iPhone by following the steps below.
1. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > On the next screen, move the toggle next to Content & Privacy Restrictions to ON position.
2. On the same screen, scroll down to Allow Changes section and tap on Passcode Changes.
3. On the next screen, select the Don’t Allow option.
Now, when you go back to Settings screen, you won’t find Touch ID & Passcode settings option, which is required for changing passcode.
Without Touch ID and Passcode settings, it won’ t be possible for anyone to change the Password for your iPhone.
At any time, you can enable the “Touch ID and Settings” option on your iPhone by going to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions and selecting the Allow Option.
Note: You will be prompted to enter Screen Time Passcode, in order to make this change.
