Avoid Tolls and Highways Using Apple Maps
There is probably no one who likes paying Tolls to drive through a road, especially when you are trying to go to work or coming back after a days hard work.
Anyway, you can now make use of the Maps App on your iPhone or iPad to avoid Toll Roads and save your hard earned money.
Similarly, you can also set the Maps App on your iPhone to Avoid Highways. This feature can be useful for those who do not have a full driving licence and are not allowed to drive on Highways.
Avoid Tolls and Highways Using Apple Maps On iPhone
1. From the Home Screen of your iPhone, tap on the Settings app.
2. On the Settings screen, Scroll down and tap on Maps.
3. Next, tap on Driving & Navigation.
4. On the Driving & Navigation screen, you will see the options for Tolls and Highways under the section “Avoid” (See image below).
5. Toggle ON the option for Highways in case you want to avoid Highways during your journey. Similarly, you can Toggle on Tolls to avoid those Roads where you may be required to pay a toll.
With these settings, the Maps app will now help you navigate to your destination by making sure that you do not go through Highways or Toll Roads.
Disable Avoid Tolls & Highways Option On Apple Maps
After reaching your destination, you may want to disable the Avoid Tolls and Highways Settings on your iPhone and go back to the default settings
1. From the Home Screen of your iPhone, tap on Settings
2. On the Settings screen, scroll down and tap on Maps.
3. Next, tap on Driving & Navigation.
4. On the next screen, toggle OFF Tolls and Highways options by moving the slider to OFF position.
This will take you back to the default settings. The Maps App on your iPhone will now try to guide you through the quickest possible route and not worry about avoiding tolls and highways.
