Popular streaming service Netflix makes it easy to set Parental Controls, which helps in protecting the young children in your family from being exposed to age-inappropriate content.
Setup Parental Controls in Netflix
The Parental Controls in Netflix can be setup at both Account and Profile Levels, which allows you to setup different profiles for Children, Teens and Adults in your family.
At Account Level, you can basically setup a 4-digit PIN and make it mandatory for everyone to enter this PIN, in case anyone wants to play a movie or TV show above a set maturity level.
At Profile Level, Netflix allows users to create profiles with different maturity levels and allocate these profiles to children and adults in the family.
Once different profiles for Children, Teens and Adults are setup, Netflix automatically filters content and allow only age appropriate content to be accessed on the profiles.
1. How Deoes Netflix Rate Its Content
According to Netflix, its maturity ratings can vary based on Country and Region, as it uses ratings set by local standards organizations which determine whether or not the material is appropriate for children.
In case a particular Movie, TV show or Video has not been rated by a known Local Standards Organization, Netflix uses its own reasonable judgment to determine the maturity level.
