Whenever you are truly busy in a meeting or trying to meet a work deadline, you can place your Android Phone on Do Not Disturb Mode.

However, the problem with this approach is that you may miss an important call or message, while your phone was placed in Do Not Disturb Mode.

The obvious solution in this case is to make an exception and allow certain people to call or message you, even if your Android Phone is placed in Do Not Disturb Mode.

This can be done by designating certain Contacts as starred in the Address book of your Android Phone and turning ON the option to allow only the Starred Contacts to Call or Message you during Do Not Disturb Mode.
