You don’t have to go rushing to your computer in case you are required to find the IP Address of your home WiFi Router. In-fact finding the Router IP Address on your iPhone or iPad is a lot easier compared to finding Router IP address on a Computer.
Router IP Address
Most manufacturers generally set 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 as the default IP address on their routers and make this information available on their websites and How-to Guides.
This makes it really easy for users to access the Web based Router Settings page by typing the default IP Address into the address bar of a web browser.
However, in some cases it is likely that you or your internet service provider may have changed the default Router IP Address during installation of the router. In such a case, you can easily find the IP Address of your Router by using your iPhone.
Find Router IP Address On iPhone
Follow the steps below to find the Router IP Address on your iPhone or iPad.
1. From the home screen of your iPhone, tap on Settings.
2. Next, tap on WiFi
3. On the next screen you will see the WiFi Network Name that your iPhone is connected to with an “i” icon next to it. (See image below)
4. Tap on the WiFi Network Name to access your WiFi network details page.
5. As you can see in the image above, the Router IP address is clearly mentioned next to the entry titled ‘Router’.
In addition to Router IP address, your iPhone also provides the IP address of your iPhone (the first entry above). This can be helpful in case you want to transfer Photos from your iPhone to a computer over a WiFi connection and for other geeky tasks.
Hope you will find this tip useful in case you do come across the need to access the Settings page of your home network Router in order to change your WiFi network name or the WiFi password.
