1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
2. On the Settings screen, tap on Sounds and notifications option
3. On the next screen, tap on When Device is locked (See image below)
4. On the slide-up menu that appears, tap on Do not show notifications option (See image below).
This will disable all Notifications from appearing on the Lock Screen of your Android Phone. Another option is to tap on Hide Content on the slide-up menu.
This will only disable the Content in Notifications, while allowing all Notifications to appear on the Lock Screen of your Android Phone.

The steps to Hide Notifications from Lock Screen on Samsung Galaxy phones running Android 6.0 or above are also quite similar.
1. Open Settings on your Samsung phone.
2. On the Settings screen, tap on Lock Screen and security option
3. On the Lock Screen and Security screen, tap on Notifications on lock screen option (See image below)
4. On the next screen, tap on Content on lock screen option (See image below)
5. On the slide-up menu that appears, tap on Do not show notifications option.
