As you must be aware, the “Last Seen” feature in WhatsApp is enabled by default and this allows your Contacts to see the exact time when you were Last Seen or active on WhatsApp.
If you are concerned about your privacy, WhatsApp provides the option to Hide Your Last Seen Status from Everyone and also the option to prevent certain selected or Specific Contacts from seeing your Last Seen Status.
Hide WhatsApp Last Seen Status on iPhone & Android
Before going ahead with the steps to Hide Your Last Seen Status on WhatsApp, you need to be aware that this feature works on a reciprocal basis.
This means, when you hide your Last Seen Status from someone, you won’t be able to see the Last Seen Status of the other person.
1. Hide WhatsApp Last Seen on iPhone
If you are using an iPhone, you can follow the steps below to Hide Your Last Seen Status in WhatsApp from others.
1. Open WhatsApp > tap on Settings tab in the bottom-menu.
2. From the Settings screen, go to Privacy > Last Seen & Online.
3. On the next screen, select Nobody under “Who Can See My Last Seen” section to Hide Your Last Seen Status from everyone in WhatsApp.
If required, you can select Same as Last Seen option under “Who Can See When I’m Online” section to prevent everyone from seeing your Online/Offline status on WhatsApp.
The other option is to select My Contacts Except option, which allows you to select Contacts (on the next screen) that should not be allowed to see your Last Seen Status.
This way you can prevent only the selected Contacts from seeing your Last Seen, while allowing all other Contacts to see your Last Seen & Online Status on WhatsApp.
2. Hide WhatsApp Last Seen on Android Phone
Except for minor differences, the steps to Hide WhatsApp Last Seen on Android phone are practically the same as on iPhone.
1. Open WhatsApp > tap on 3-dots Menu Icon > select Settings in the drop-down menu.
2. From Settings screen, navigate to Privacy > Last Seen & Online.
3. On the next screen, select Nobody to Hide Your Last Seen from everyone in WhatsApp.
If you only want to prevent certain Contacts to see your Last Seen Status, select My Contacts Except option. On the next screen, select the Conatcts that you to prevent from seeing your Last Seen Status on WhatsApp.
