How to Restore Deleted Apps on Mac

By: Staff Writer | Updated: August 7, 2025

If you have deleted an app or desktop program on your MacBook, you should still be able to Restore the Deleted App by going to the Trash Can, where it will be available until it is permanently deleted by the system.

Even if you also cleared the Trash Can, the deleted App can be recovered by reinstalling the application from the App Store or from Third-party source from which the app was originally downloaded.

As mentioned above, the default setting on a MacBook is to move deleted Apps to the Trash Can, which makes it really easy to Restore the App, in case it was accidentally deleted by you.

If you had intentionally deleted the App and also cleared the Recycle Bin or the Trash can, you will have Restore the App by downloading it from the App Store.
