The find my iPhone feature is very helpful because it can help you track your phone when it’s lost. However, you might want to turn it off because this feature tracks your location continuously and also drains a bit of battery life.
Turn off Find My iPhone in iOS 8
The steps below will show you how to turn off ‘Find my iPhone on iOS 8 devices’, so that it is not tracking your location and draining your battery.
1. Go to Settings
The first thing you should do is go into the settings. The settings shortcut is usually located on your iPhone’s home screen.
2. Click on iCloud
After clicking on settings you will be presented with a menu, click on iCloud on this menu.
3. Click on the button
Once you click on iCloud you should be on a new window, from the new window locate Find my iPhone and click the button to turn it off. (See image below)
4. Enter your Password
A popup window should now be prompting you to enter your password for your Apple ID. Enter your password and then click on turn off.
Turn off Find My iPhone in iOS 7
The steps are more or less similar in iOS 7:
1. Click on settings
On your device’s home screen find the settings icon and then click on it.
2. Find the Privacy Section
From settings screen find the privacy section and then click on it.
3. Click on Location Services
Once you have clicked on the privacy section, find the location services and click on it.
4. Locate Find my iPhone
Now you should be able to see a bunch of apps, try to locate Find my iPhone from them.
5. Click on Find my iPhone
Now click on Find my iPhone and then click on the green button to turn it off.
