If you are looking for a way to Edit, Add or Delete your Gmail Contacts, you need to go to the Contacts App, where all the Contacts added to your Gmail Account are located.
If you are already logged-in to Gmail, the Contacts App can be accessed right from within your Gmail Account. If you are not logged-in, the Contacts App can be accessed by going to the Apps menu in Google Chrome browser.
Add, Delete and Edit Gmail Contacts
You can find below the steps to Edit the Name, Phone Number and other details of any of your Gmail Contacts by using the Contacts App on a Windows computer or Mac.
You can also find below the steps to Add New Contacts, Remove Contacts and also the steps to Add Multiple Contacts to your Gmail Account.
1. Edit Gmail Contacts on Computer
If the phone number or any other detail of your Gmail Contact has changed, you can follow the steps below to make the required changes to the Contact Details.
1. Login to your Gmail Account on a Windows computer or Mac.
2. Click on Google Apps icon located at the top-right corner of your screen and select Contacts option in the Apps menu.
3. On the next screen, select Contacts in the left pane. In the right-pane, click on the Contact that you want to edit.
4. On Contact’s detail screen, click on the Edit icon.
5. On the next screen, you will be able to Edit the Contact’s Name, Phone Number and other details as required.
6. After you are done editing the Contact Details, click on Save to save the changes.
2. Delete Contacts from Gmail Account
You can follow the steps below to delete unwanted Contacts from your Gmail Account.
1. Login to your Gmail Account > click on Google Apps icon and select Contacts in the Apps menu.
2. On the Contacts screen, select the Contact or Contacts that you want to remove > click on 3-dots menu icon and select the Delete option in the drop-down menu.
The selected Contacts will be immediately deleted from your Gmail Account.
3. Add New Contacts to Gmail Account
You can Add New Contacts to your Gmail Account by following the steps below.
1. Login to your Gmail Account > click on Google Apps icon and select Contacts in the Apps menu.
2. On the Contacts screen, click on Create Contact option.
3. On the pop-up, click on Create a Contact option.
4. On the next screen, enter your Contact’s Name, Email, Phone Number and other details as required.
5. After you are done, click on Save.
4. Add Multiple Contacts to Gmail Account
You can Add Multiple Contacts to your Gmail Account by using “Create Multiple Contacts” option and also by using the “Import Contacts” option as available in the Contacts App.
1. Login to your Gmail Account > click on Google Apps icon and select Contacts in the Apps menu.
2. On the Contacts screen, click on Create Contact option.
3. On the pop-up, click on Create Multiple Contact option.
4. On the next screen, you can Add Contacts manually by typing their Name followed by Email Address and clicking on Create.
The other option is to click on Import Contacts link, which allows you to import Contacts File from your computer to Gmail.
Once the file is selected, click on Import to Add Multiple Contacts to your Gmail Account.
