While PayPal is one of the most popular browser-based online payment processing methods, it can also be used to on the App store and make actual in-store purchases at Home Depot, Office Depot, Dollar General, 7-Eleven, Macy’s and several other major retailers across United States.
This can be done by adding your PayPal Account to Apple ID, downloading & installing the PayPal App on iPhone and by adding PayPal to Apple Wallet.
Make Purchases on iPhone Using PayPal
All that is required to make use of your Email-based PayPal Account to make purchases on Apple’s App Store is to link your PayPal Account to Apple ID.
When it comes to making in-store payments, you can use PayPal with Apple Pay by adding your PayPal Debit Card to Apple Wallet.
If you do not have a PayPal Debit Card, you can download and install the PayPal App on your iPhone; which allows you to pay for in-store purchases at participating stores by using your regular PayPal Account.
1. Add PayPal to Apple ID for App Store Purchases
As mentioned above, you can add your PayPal to Apple ID and this will allow to make purchases on the App Store by using your PayPal Account.
1. Open Settings > tap on your Apple ID Account.
2. From the Apple ID screen, go to Payment and Shipping > Enter your Apple ID Password if prompted.
3. From “Payment & Shipping” screen, go to Payment Method > On the next screen, select PayPal as the Payment method and tap on Log In to PayPal.
4. Enter the Email Address Linked to your PayPal Account & Tap on Next.
5. Enter the password to sign-in to your PayPal Account and Agree to its “Terms and conditions”.
Once your PayPal Account gets linked to Apple ID, you will be able to pay for Apps and other purchases on the App Store by using your PayPal Account.
2. Add PayPal to Apple Wallet For In-store Purchases
While you cannot add a regular PayPal Account to Apple Pay, Apple provides the option to add your PayPal Debit or Credit card to Apple Wallet; just like any other credit or debit card.
This will allow you to make secure, contactless payments by using your PayPal balance; wherever Apple Pay is accepted as a payment method.
1. Open the Apple Wallet on your iPhone.
2. Tap on the + (Plus) Icon.
3. Select Debit or Credit Card and tap on Continue.
4. On the next screen, you can Scan the credit card or tap on Enter Card Details Manually option.
5. On the next screen, enter the Details of your PayPal Debit or Credit Card.
Once this is done, you will be able to make in-store purchases by using your PayPal balance; wherever Apple Pay is accepted.
3. Make In-store Purchases Using PayPal App
If you do not have a PayPal Debit Card, you can make in-store purchases from your regular email-based PayPal account by downloading and installing the PayPal app on your iPhone.
If you do not have a Debit or Credit card from PayPal, you can make in-store purchases using your regular PayPal Account by scanning QR Codes at participating stores.
1. Open the App Store on your iPhone.
2. Search for PayPal and tap on the Get option located next to PayPal.
3. Tap on the Install button to download and Install the PayPal App on your iPhone.
4. After the App is installed, open PayPal > tap on Login and login to your PayPal Account.
Once you are logged-in to PayPal on iPhone, you can make use of the QR Code scan option; as available in the PayPal app to pay for in-store purchases at participating stores.
1. Open the PayPal App on your iPhone and tap on QR code Icon, located at top-right corner.
2. On the next screen, select the Scan option and use the rear-facing camera of iPhone to scan the QR code, located on the POS (Point of Sale) terminal.
3. Enter the Amount that is required to Pay for your purchases & tap on Pay Now.
Note: PayPal app comes with “One Touch” feature, which allows you to purchases; without having to login to your PayPal Account, every time you want to pay for your in-store purchases.
