How to Prevent Spotify From Starting Automatically

By: Sam Patwegar | November 29, 2024

The default behaviour in Spotify is to automatically startup with the computer and remain active in the background, ready and waiting to be used.

The reason for this default setup in Spotify is to make the app ready and available for use, as soon as the user gets access to the computer and wants to listen to music or podcast.

However, if Spotify is not your go to morning app and you do not continuously listen to music, it will still remain active in the background, unecessarily using up resources on your computer.

In such cases, it is better to prevent Spotify from starting automatically and having an adverse impact on the overall performance of your device.
