If you are using Apple Music and other Music Apps, it likely that you are dealing with the issue of music automatically playing in the car (at full blast!), as soon as iPhone gets connected to the Car.
This happens, due to the default setting on iPhone to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices and automatically connect to them. In this case, iPhone gets automatically connected to the infotainment system of the car.
While iPhone getting automatically connected to Car’s Bluetooth is a desirable feature, it comes with the potential to startle pets, toddlers & nearby people by automatically playing music at full blast.
Stop iPhone Automatically Playing Music in the Car
If you do like the idea of Apple Music playing automatically in the car, you can take the precaution of significantly lowering down the volume, before switching off the car.
This ensures that you are not attracting the attention of your neighbor or bothering others with loud music, every time you start the car and it automatically starts playing music.
You can find below other methods to deal with the issue of music automatically playing in the car, when iPhone gets connected to Bluetooth system of the car.
1. Disable Auto-play in Car’s Infotainment System
Any easy solution to the issue of Apple Music Automatically playing in the car would be to disable the Auto-Play option in the Car’ s infotainment system.
1. Open the Settings of your Car’s Infotainment system.
2. From the Settings screen, navigate to Auto-Play option and switch it off.
If there is no Auto-Play option in the Car’s Infotainment settings, you can move to the next steps.
2. Stop/Pause Music
As you must have already tried it, you can manually pause or stop the Music, as soon as it starts playing by using the Pause or Stop button, located on the Car’s Dashboard or Steering wheel.
If you are using Siri, you can activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri” and then say “Stop Playing music” to stop the song playing on the Car’s audio system.
The downside of this method is that you will have to repeat this routine, every time you get into the Car.
3. Disable Bluetooth on iPhone
Since, Apple Music is being activated by Bluetooth; disabling Bluetooth on iPhone is another way to deal with this issue.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Disable Bluetooth by moving the toggle to OFF position.

The disadvantage of this method is that you will have to manually enable Bluetooth, if required for other purposes.
4. Disable Handoff
In theory, you should be able to prevent Apple Music and any other Music app from transitioning to another device by disabling the Handoff feature.
1. Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity.
2. On the next screen, disable Handoff by moving the slider to OFF position.

5. Create Custom Automation to Pause Music
The idea behind this method is to make iPhone to automatically pause Music as soon as it gets connected to Bluetooth system of your car.
1. Search for “Shortcuts” and open the Shortcuts App on your iPhone.
2. Switch to Automation tab and tap on the +Icon located at top-right corner of the screen,

3. On the next screen, scroll down in Personal Automation section and select Bluetooth.

4. On the next screen, tap on Choose device.

5. On Choose Devices screen, select Any Device and tap on Done.

6. After this, check Is Connected box, select Run Immediately option and tap on Next.

7. On the next screen, select Create New Shortcut card > On the pop-up, type Pause in the search bar and select the Play/Pause option.

8. On the next screen, tap on the done to save this New Shortcut on your iPhone.

After this, you should find Apple Music being automatically paused, whenever iPhone gets connected to the Infotainment system of the Car.
